The church is located in the center of the village of Duvan, slightly deviating from the red line, to which its western facade faces. It is a rare example of late classicism in Bashkiria, later reconstructed with elements of eclecticism. Different sources indicate the years 1820-1821 as the time of its construction. In the 1870s, the church was expanded and rebuilt.

During the Soviet period, the building was used as a cinema and library. The upper tiers of the bell tower, the porch, and the completion of the church were destroyed. A wooden stairwell was added to the north side. Ceilings were added in the church and the first, two-light tier of the bell tower. There was a living room on the first floor of the bell tower, and a film operator's room on the second. Partitions were erected in the altar area and the church, windows of the refectory were bricked up, and the original entrances were blocked. Some windows of the refectory and altar were converted into doors. Many internal openings connecting the altar, church, refectory, and the base of the bell tower were bricked up. The southern and northern facades of the church are decorated with fluted pilasters at the corners. The tall arched windows in the center are paired and cut at the level of the second light; at the first level, rectangular openings of the northern and southern gates. The northern gates are bricked up, and the southern ones have been converted into a window. Arched openings in the walls connecting the church with the altar and refectory are partially bricked up.

After the church was returned to the parish in 1997, restoration work began: the columns and arched vaults of the basement were restored, and the two-layer ceiling was repaired. Additional ceilings of the bell tower and prayer hall were removed, and the main porch and porch were restored. A wooden extension on the northern side of the bell tower was removed. The fence was repaired, and wooden posts were replaced with brick ones.

The surviving frescoes of the prayer hall and altar were cleaned and restored. The making and complete restoration of the iconostasis is nearing completion, and a new floor for the refectory has been prepared. The drum and dome of the main dome were installed on October 23, 2009, and a partial restoration project for the church was developed. Two windows of the refectory were opened. Arched transitions from the bell tower to the refectory, prayer hall, and altar were restored. Documentation for the restoration of the bell tower is being prepared.

In 2001, the parish acquired the building of a former shop, which was converted into a workshop. The workshop is located 15 meters from the northern wall of the church, and now the house and church are surrounded by a single fence.
