The first wooden Protection Church was built in the last quarter of the 18th century according to the church foundation charter issued in 1784 by Ioann of Veliky Ustyug and Totma. The construction of the stone church began in 1823. The lower warm church, dedicated to the Protection of the Holy Virgin, was consecrated in 1829. The upper summer church was completed by 1840 and consecrated in honor of Peter and Paul in 1846. The church building has survived to this day, but is in a significantly altered state. To the southeast of the church, across the road, stands a red-brick building of an unfinished church, which now houses a grocery store.
