The parish was founded by Russian emigrants in 1949. At that time, the local Orthodox community did not have its own church, so Archimandrite Peter purchased a residential house at 1614 E Monte Vista Rd, where services began to be held. Later, the building was converted into a church.
In 1956, an extension was added to the original house, accommodating 80 people. In 1961, adjacent land was acquired for future church construction, and in March 1967, the parish received the blessing of Archbishop John to build.
On May 12, 1968, St. Peter and Paul Church was opened. Services are now held in both Russian and English. There is a Sunday school for children, and Orthodox believers organize various events. The social hall often hosts creative performances and sketches.
