The Church of St. Paraskeva in the village of Karmalka was built in 1901 through the efforts of local parishioners. In 1931, or according to other sources in 1933, the church was closed, and in 1935-1936 the domes, bells, and crosses were removed, after which the building was used as a grain storage facility.

In 1989, the building was returned to the believers. In the Sharlyk district, it was the Church of St. Paraskeva that was the first to be restored. In 1991, the Paraskeva Church was placed under state protection as a monument of history and culture of the Orenburg region.
