The village of Gubtsevo, located 60 versts from Vladimir and 70 versts from the district town, belonged to the Moscow Chudov Monastery until 1764. However, when and who transferred it to the monastery is unknown.

According to local church chronicles, the church of Gubtsevo was previously located between the village and the village of Pershkovo and was dedicated to the holy martyr Leontius. This is confirmed by the fact that the supposed site of the former church is still called "popovskoye oselko," the residents of Pershkovo honor the day of Saint Leontius, and the church is mentioned in an inscription on a handwritten Gospel from 1615. However, there are no exact documentary evidence of the Leontiev church.

In the census books of the monastery and church lands of Vladimir district for the years 1637-1647, it is indicated that there was already a wooden church in the village of Gubtsevo in the name of the holy great martyr Paraskeva with an altar of Alexius, Metropolitan of Moscow. There was a priest and a prosphora baker at the church, and the village had a monastery yard, 5 monastery households, and 8 peasant households. In 1720, the old church became dilapidated, and a new wooden church was built in its place, also in the name of the holy great martyr Paraskeva, which stands in the cemetery.

In 1848, the construction of a stone temple began on the site of the wooden church. The refectory was consecrated in 1849, and the work on the main temple was completed only in 1872. In 1891, another altar appeared in the refectory. Thus, the church has three altars: the main one in the name of the holy great martyr Paraskeva, in the refectory, in the name of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and Saint John the Baptist. The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. Among the icons, the icons of the holy martyr Paraskeva, Smolensk Mother of God, Nicholas the Wonderworker, and the twelve feasts stand out for their antiquity, although they were renewed in 1894. The icon of the holy martyr Paraskeva in a silver-gilded vestment is especially revered by parishioners and local residents as "manifested." A well has been dug at the site of the icon's manifestation, over which a chapel has been built.

The clergy at the church includes a priest and a psalmist. Their maintenance is ensured by bread collections from parishioners and sacramental fees, amounting to up to 520 rubles a year. The homes of the clergy members are located on church land. The parish includes the village of Gubtsevo, the hamlet of Davydovo, and the villages of Tolstikovo and Pershkovo, located 3-5 versts from the church, where the clerical records list 782 men and 841 women. In the hamlet of Davydovo, there is a zemstvo public school.
