In the village of Bryandino, there was a wooden church dedicated to the Great Martyr Paraskeva, also known as Friday, which is why the village had a second name, Friday Village. On August 6, 1789, a fire occurred in the village, completely destroying the church and several peasant houses. For 25 years, the local residents collected funds to build a new church. Thanks to the generous contribution of merchant Markov, who donated a significant amount and commissioned the church's design from the Petersburg Synod, a new stone church with the same altar was built in Bryandino by September 1814. A photograph of this church was long displayed in the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg, where the most beautiful churches of Russia were showcased. However, in 1930, during a period of active atheism, the church was closed, and priest Alexander Fyodorovich Gnevushev and his associates were arrested and executed. Since 1936, the church began to be demolished, and the bells were removed.
