The Church of Paraskeva Friday is located in the village of Barabanovo, which is 60 km from Krasnoyarsk. According to research by Academician Bakhrushin, this village, founded by Cossacks, emerged in the late 17th century. In the mid-19th century, a parish was established here, which included the villages of Karymskoye, Shivera, Dodonovo, and Barabanovo.

The establishment of the parish was necessary for many reasons. The decree from the spiritual authorities in 1855 expressed concern that "marriages are not registered, metric books are not kept, and children are considered illegitimate." Due to the lack of a parish church, residents often did not observe religious rituals.

In the early 1850s, the residents of the four villages decided to build a church and create a parish. Each village already had a wooden chapel. In Barabanovo, the chapel existed since 1826, in Shivera since 1823. In Karymskoye, even the old-timers could not remember when the chapel was built. In Dodonovo, the chapel, like in Shivera, was erected without episcopal permission, and the year of its construction could not be established.

Archive documents of the Barabanovo parish indicate that on March 20, 1852, a meeting of residents from the four villages, numbering over 2000 people, took place. It was decided to build a wooden parish church. The residents collected 454 rubles and 69 kopecks in silver for the construction. A total of 7200 rubles was raised, of which 1500 rubles were donated by the Krasnoyarsk merchant Ivan Ivanovich Tokarev, known for his philanthropy.

Strict requirements were presented for the site of the church construction. Church archive documents state that the location must be safe from water and fire, on a flat dry elevation. However, in 1853, the commission deemed the chosen site unsuitable due to its proximity to residential buildings and the risk of fire. A new site was selected at the entrance to the village, on an elevation, 50 fathoms away from other buildings. The church plan was approved, and construction began under the guidance of architect Yakov Nabalov.

In the winter of 1853, logs for construction were harvested in the Kantatsky ravine. The contractor was the merchant Anatoly Kasyanovich Sayanovich, who received 1900 rubles in silver for completing the work on November 5, 1857. The construction was carried out by a team of local carpenters, and some work was done voluntarily by residents. The church was completed in 1856, and in 1863, a stone foundation was laid, and it was surrounded by a wooden fence.

The residents took care of their church, as confirmed by an inspection act from 1864. It states that all elements of the church, including chandeliers and the iconostasis, were in good condition. The church, located on a hill, attracts the attention of travelers. Pines were planted around it, which began to be cut down in the 1930s.

The architectural forms of the church indicate the use of a standard project developed for rural churches. Such a project could have been proposed by architect Yakov Nabalov. The church is built according to the canons of Siberian wooden architecture and resembles wooden churches of the Russian North.

The church has a five-domed structure with a tent-like finish. It is built of pine logs and covered with planking. Initially, the roof was painted with green verdigris. The interior decoration of the church was modest, but fragments of wall paintings have been preserved.

Today, the Church of Paraskeva Friday is in poor condition. Services ceased in the 1950s, and the building was used as a warehouse. In 1980, the church was placed under state protection, and in 2003 it was consecrated anew. The church is a monument of wooden architecture from the 19th century and reflects the traditions of Russian architecture.
