The first church in the village of Elshanka, Saratov district, was built in 1752. By the end of the 19th century, it had deteriorated to the point where conducting services became nearly impossible. The church was dismantled, and in 1900, thanks to the efforts of parishioners and the local priest Gavriil Vasilyevich Arkhangelsky, a spacious stone church with a tall bell tower was constructed in its place. The new church had three altars: the main one in honor of the Archangel Michael, the left in honor of Saint Martyr Paraskeva, and the right in honor of the Venerable Mary of Egypt. The altar of Saint Paraskeva was consecrated in memory of the discovery of her miraculous icon at the spring known as the White Key. The clergy included a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist, and their residences were communal. The parish operated church and zemstvo schools.

After the revolution, the Michael-Archangel church in Elshanka was destroyed.

Currently, an old merchant mansion has been converted for the church in the village, which was arranged through the efforts of the parish rector, Hieromonk Nikita. On August 8, 2004, Bishop Longin performed the great consecration of the church dedicated to the memory of the New Martyrs and Confessors who suffered in Russia during the persecutions of the 20th century.

Attached to the church is a chapel in honor of Saint Great Martyr Paraskeva Friday, established by the director of the enterprise 'White Key,' Vitaly Dmitrievich Perevalov, with the support of LLC 'Trading Company RIF,' and a chapel in honor of the icon of the Mother of God 'Life-Giving Spring' in the settlement of Kommunna in the Voskresensky district. The spring is consecrated in the name of Saint Great Martyr Paraskeva Friday. Bathhouses have been equipped, and the spring is closed.
