The construction of the church took place from 1995 to 2008 under the guidance of Moscow architect Dmitry Shchepetkov. His friends, acquaintances, and local residents participated in the project. The main goal was to fully recreate the classical process of building a wooden church, which was successfully achieved. The church was consecrated on May 5, 2008, on the eve of the 500th anniversary of the repose of St. Nil Sorsky. Its canonical name is the church in honor of St. Nil Sorsky.
