Church of Nicholas the Wonderworker in Rusinovo

Фото 1
The church, a monument of urban planning and architecture, was built in 1852. The village of Rusinovo is located on the Urkat River, which is a tributary of the Moksha. In N.I. Rusinov's essay "Lukoyanovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Province," rich deposits of limestone along this river are mentioned, which serves as an excellent building material. Limestone was used for the construction of the foundation and floor of the church in Rusinovo, as well as for many houses in the village. Currently, this deposit is being developed by the Yelniki Road Enterprise, located two kilometers from the village, in the Yelniki District of Mordovia.
