The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is an outstanding example of church architecture from the first half of the 19th century. Originally, there was a wooden church in the village of Zavyalovo dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

This church was built and consecrated in 1754, and its parishioners were newly converted Udmurts. In 1774, Pugachev's troops entered the village, and at the request of the pagans, the church was destroyed, and the priests were subjected to torture and execution.

After the restoration of lawful authority, the church was revived. In 1815, the parishioners decided to build a stone church in the village and began collecting donations.

By 1839, with the funds from the parishioners, the stone building of the Epiphany Church with three altars was erected according to the design of architect S.E. Dudin. The church was built in the classical style using rare architectural forms.

By the decree of the Vyatka Spiritual Consistory on March 16, 1846, the old wooden church was allowed to be dismantled and used for the construction of a chapel at the cemetery.

Three priests and a deacon served in the church, and a church-parish school operated at the Epiphany Church. In 1918, the rector of the church, Archpriest Pavel Shklyayev, was brutally murdered by the Bolsheviks. In the 1920s and 30s, other clergy and laypeople of the church were also subjected to repression. The final decision to close the Epiphany Church was made by the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the UASSR on March 5, 1937, after which the church was turned into a village club. In 1990, at the request of the believers, the church was returned to the Church.

The building of the church was in a deplorable state: without a dome, bell tower, and partially destroyed. Since its return, restoration work began. In 1992, a church-parish school opened in the church, and parishioners organized a children's Orthodox camp in honor of the Tsarevich Martyr Alexei. On December 11, 1994, the icons of our Lord Jesus Christ and St. Nicholas on the iconostasis began to abundantly exude myrrh.

On August 7, 1999, Archbishop Nikolai of Izhevsk and Udmurtia consecrated the church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The parish actively engages in educational and social work among orphans, military personnel, youth, and prisoners. The church actively collaborates with the media and conducts anti-cult activities. In recent years, intensive restoration work has been carried out: a bell tower and dome were erected, and significant restoration work was conducted. As a result, the St. Nicholas Church has appeared in all its beauty and grandeur.
