Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Verkhny Shibryai

The village of Verkhny Shibryai was founded by single householders and is first mentioned in the documents of the 1811 revision tale under the name Verkhni Shibryaiskie. In 1883, a wooden church was built in the village in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, replacing the Kazan church of 1858, which was destroyed by fire. During the Soviet era, services continued in the Nicholas church, and many believers from Uvarovo came here. However, in 2007, the church burned down.

In 2008, a new stone church of simple architecture was built. It is a rectangular single-story building with an octagonal light drum on the eastern side, topped with a small onion dome. Currently, the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is operational.
