The consecration ceremony was conducted by the archpriest of the Kulebaki district, Father David Pokrovsky. The Nikolsky church was built over seven years thanks to personal donations from local entrepreneur Boris Konychev. The decision to construct it was made near the site where, before the revolution, there stood a church in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity. During the Soviet era, this church was destroyed, and now a village club is located in its place. The Nikolskaya church is built of stone and accommodates 200 people, including residents of Veletma and several neighboring villages.
