The village of Vasiliev Maidan is located in the Pochinkovsky district. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the Nicholas Church in this village was recognized as a historical and cultural heritage site. The church has altars: the main one in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and a chapel dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The church dates back to 1851. Only the bell tower of the temple has survived to this day.
