Since the late 1870s, the village of Sofyinka belonged to the parish of the Mikhailo-Archangel Church in the village of Zmievka, Serdobsky district. An independent parish at the Nikolskaya Church was established by the decree of the Holy Synod on June 4, 1912. It included the villages of Annino, Annino-Zybino, part of the Izobilny parish, and settlers from the surrounding lands located in the Sofyino estate and on the lands of the peasant land bank.

The laying of the church-school in the village of Sofyino, Serdobsky district, took place on September 14, 1905, in honor of the coronation of Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna. The single-altar wooden church was built in 1911 with the funds of the parishioners. On July 3, 1911, it was consecrated in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. In 1913, a circle of zealous Orthodox believers was established at the church. The church had 33 desyatinas of arable land registered to it.

The church was closed and likely destroyed in the late 1920s or mid-1930s. By the late 1980s, the village ceased to exist.
