The date of construction of the first Nicholas church in the village of Golitsyno, Serdobsky district, remains unknown; however, by 1841, a priest was already serving at the church. In the same year, a statute of spiritual consistories was approved, instructing the diocesan authorities to assist in the creation and support of schools at churches. Priest Alexander Mikhailovsky opened a school for boys at the Nicholas church, which was located in his house. By 1878, 23 people were being educated there.

The first church in the village of Golitsyno burned down, and in 1888, a new stone church with a bell tower in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built in its place. The funds for construction were provided by hereditary honorary citizens, merchants from Morshansk, Stepan Khrisanthovich and Ilya Stepanovich Mikhailov. In 1900, Yevdokiya Ivanovna Mikhailova and Varvara Borisovna Skaryatina donated 1220 rubles for the installation of six stoves in the church.

On September 22, 1905, a regular deacon vacancy was opened at the Nicholas church. By 1912, the number of parishioners reached 2581, and the parish included the villages of Shuklino and Dubasovo, the villages of Platcovka and Likhachyovka, as well as the hamlets of Volchiy and Mazanov. The clergy consisted of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist, and a church parish school operated in the village of Dubasovo.

On March 8, 1930, a decision was made to close the church in the village of Shilo-Golitsyno and convert it into a club. However, in 1936, the temple was destroyed. On the site of the destroyed church, a memorial cross with an inscription was erected on September 12, 2006, built by labor teacher A.A. Kamanov, and the fence was made by school worker N.P. Vybornov.
