The Nikolskaya Church in Reshetikha, the "youngest" in Chernorechye, was built in 1900 thanks to the funds of industrialist P.M. Guriyev, who established a net-weaving industry in this region. In addition to the church, Guriyev built houses for the clergy and donated 100 desyatins of forest to the parish "for all time." In 1895, the residents of the village of Reshetikha appealed to the archpastor of Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, with a request to allow the construction of a church. The building project was carried out by the diocesan architect A.K. Nikitin, and its architecture in the ancient Russian style pleased both the initiator and the local residents. At a meeting on April 14, 1896, the residents of Reshetikha allocated land for construction. The laying of the church took place on July 27, 1896. A master from the village of Katunki, F.I. Ostrovumov, created a multi-tiered iconostasis made of bog oak for seven thousand rubles, which became an exact copy of the iconostasis of the Protection Church in Nizhny Novgorod.

The icons for the church were painted by the famous Moscow icon painter M.I. Dikarev, candle holders and silver utensils were brought from Moscow, a bell weighing 335 poods, costing seven thousand, from Yaroslavl, and Mettlach tiles for the floor from Kharkov. The chandelier was donated by I.S. Ryabikov. By the autumn of 1899, the church was fully ready and equipped with everything necessary.

On the morning of January 30, 1900, Reshetikha welcomed guests and pilgrims from all around with the ringing of bells and the singing of the church choir. People of all ages gathered for the consecration of the church built in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra. Although the church was designed for 600 people, that day it could not accommodate everyone who wished to attend. The consecration and worship ceremonies began in advance. For this, priests from Zhelnina, Fathers Lezviyskiy and Znamenskiy, from Chyornoye, the holy father Mamontov, deacon L.I. Pokrovskiy from the Alexander Nevsky Fair Cathedral of Nizhny Novgorod, and a choir of singers arrived in Reshetikha. Honorary guests from Nizhny and Balakhna came for the all-night vigil. The consecration was led by Archimandrite Theodosius, the abbot of the Fedorovsky Monastery in Gorodets. Thus began the activities of the Nikolskaya Church in Reshetikha.
