The village of Putimka, although it bears this name, is actually just a flat field without a single house, and for several kilometers around, not a soul is in sight. However, a church is planned to be built here, as this place is considered holy due to a miracle that occurred more than three hundred years ago. At that time, the relics of the holy righteous Simeon of Verkhoturye were being transported from the village of Merkushino to the city of Verkhoturye. Following the procession, the blessed Kasyma, now also venerated as a saint, crawled on his knees, unable to walk due to injuries. Exhausted, he called out to Simeon, asking him to stop, and after that, no one could move the coffin with the relics from its place. One of these stops occurred in Putimka. Subsequently, churches and chapels were built at these stopping places, including the St. Nicholas Church in Putimka. Before the revolution, pilgrims, following the path of blessed Kasyma, would always stop here. However, in the first half of the 20th century, these places were devastated.

In recent years, many shrines have been restored. In the village of Merkushino, a temple complex was revived, and in the village of Kostyleva, a monastery, the Holy Kasymin Men's Desert, was established on the site of a destroyed church. The next step will be the restoration of Putimka. The ruins of the St. Nicholas Church have been transferred to the Novo-Tikhvin Women's Monastery, and a project for its restoration has already been developed, which includes the construction of a small monastery complex with a sister's building, a church shop, an entrance arch, and a gatehouse. It is expected that several sisters will live here to welcome pilgrims.

In 2006, a project for the restoration of the church and the construction of the monastery complex was developed. In 2007, the laying of the church in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker took place at the historical site in Putimka, conducted by Archbishop Vikentiy of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye. This became part of the restoration of the pilgrimage route between the village of Merkushino and the city of Verkhoturye.

Thanks to the efforts of benefactors, the restoration work progressed quickly. In 2008, Archbishop Vikentiy consecrated the bells and crosses of the revived church, which were then installed in their places.

Today, the restoration of the church and spiritual life in Putimka continues. Exterior work has been completed, granite flooring has been laid, and the installation of the iconostasis has recently begun.
