One of the first stone buildings in the Orthodox skete near the village of Pokrovka was the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It was consecrated on October 2, 1911, after the construction of a wooden prayer house of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and a one-story brotherhood building. According to historical documents, the church was made of stone, with two domes covered in white iron and wooden crosses also covered in white iron. The height of the church from the foundation to the crosses was 8 fathoms, the length from the upper place to the porch was 10.5 fathoms, and the width was 7 fathoms. The church was not plastered on the outside but was painted with oil paint and decorated with paintings on the inside. It was built with funds from voluntary donations and consecrated by Bishop Dionysius of Chelyabinsk. The church was heated by three stoves. In 1913, the Holy Synod decided to transform the skete into an independent Nikolai Men's Monastery.

In 1925, a decision was made to close the churches and remove the bells in the monastery near the village of Pokrovka. In 1929-1930, systematic destruction of the monastery began. After that, a local executive committee, a club, and a store were built from bricks stamped "NM" in Pokrovka, while the wooden structures were dismantled and sold. Only the two-story building of the brotherhood with a common refectory remained, where the first school in the village of Pokrovka was opened. The poplar alley and the monastery's fruit orchard were almost completely cut down.

Today, at the site of the lost Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Holy-Nikolai Social Mercy Monastery, a memorial cross has been erected. Remains of the old foundation have been discovered, and a new monastery cathedral church is planned to be built on this site.
