The village of Ovchikino is located 90 versts from Vladimir and 18 versts from the district town of Pokrov. The patriarchal salary books of 1677 mention the recently built Church of Nicholas the Wonderworker with an altar dedicated to the holy martyrs Cyricus and Julitta, located in the estate of Ivan Silin, son of Dubasov, in the village of Ovchikino. The church had a priest, a deacon, a sacristan, and a prosphora-baker.

In 1773, the church burned down, and that same year, the parishioners acquired another church from the village of Besedy in the Vokhonskaya tenement of the Moscow diocese. The new church was also consecrated in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, with an altar dedicated to the same saints. In 1837, a stone temple with a bell tower was built on the site of the wooden church. In 1873, the temple and bell tower were severely damaged by fire, and significant repairs were needed the following year. In 1887-1888, all the interior decorations of the church were renewed, including the iconostases and icons, costing about 10,000 rubles. The church has three altars: in the cold part, in the name of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, in the warm refectory, in the name of the holy martyrs Cyricus and Julitta, and Saint Alexander Nevsky, the Blessed Prince. The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. The documents are kept in order: there are copies of the metric books from 1800 and confession lists from 1829.

According to the staff, the church has a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. Their maintenance is ensured by a capital of 9 rubles 85 kopecks and income from services and sacramental rites amounting to 966 rubles per year. The clergy members have their own houses on church land. The parish includes the village of Ovchikino and the villages of Bolshie Gorki and Latibrovo, where the clerical records list 748 men and 862 women. In the village of Ovchikino, there is a church-parish school, and in the village of Bolshie Gorki, there is a stone chapel and a zemstvo public school.
