In 1909, Novonikolskoe was granted the status of a village due to the construction of a church in its center. The church building has an elongated shape from west to east, and its top is adorned with a massive onion dome situated on a low drum. The interior space of the church features a long single nave, covered by a cylindrical vault and fully decorated with oil paintings. The gilded iconostasis almost blends in with the wall paintings. The floor is laid with tiles featuring a geometric pattern.
