The Church of Nicholas the Wonderworker, built in 1828, is a vivid example of temple architecture in the classical style. The building's design was developed by architect Alexander Chebotarev. During the Soviet era, the bell tower was destroyed, but in the 1990s, thanks to the initiative of the leadership of the Nizhnesaldinsky Metallurgical Plant, the restoration of the church began. The church is recognized as a monument of regional architectural significance.

Since 1826, Alexander Petrovich Chebotarev worked at the Nizhny Tagil plants, where he designed and oversaw the construction of the Nikolskaya Church in Nizhnyaya Salda. The church was completed in 1829 and consecrated in 1834.

The church's bell tower was equipped with striking clocks. After the division of Akinkhiy Demidov's property, the tower clocks went to Nikita Akinkhievich, who decided to restore them. It was believed that these clocks were brought from Holland by Peter I and gifted to Demidov. In the mid-18th century, they broke down and remained out of service for a long time. In 1771, the factory owner sent instructions to the Nizhny Tagil plant, which included over 50 points, one of which concerned the clocks. Demidov wrote: "The tower clocks received from the division, upon the arrival of Zhepin, a talented mechanic from the Nizhny Tagil plant, should be assembled, and whatever is missing should be added and used at the Salda plant, and if possible, to place them on the bell tower." The factory office informed Demidov that "the clocks received from the Nevyansk plant were assembled by Zhepin, and the necessary parts were added, and they were indeed put into operation at the Nizhnesaldinsky plant, and they work quite well."

The church was designed and built in the Doric order as a beautiful example of Russian classicism. All architectural details of the facades and interiors are executed with great skill and a sense of proportion. Chebotarev personally supervised the construction. To the cubic volume of the church, crowned with a drum and dome with a lantern, a two-tiered bell tower with a high spire was attached from the west. The western, northern, and southern facades are adorned with four-columned porticos of the Doric order with unique Roman-Doric capitals. The smooth walls were interrupted only by simple window openings. The building is characterized by the harmony of its parts and the whole.

The interior of the church is decorated with magnificent stucco work on the dome, treated with rows of coffers that decrease towards the center, and elegant rosettes.

The Nikolskaya Church is a monument of architecture from the peak of Russian classicism in the early 19th century. One could say that this is a small part of St. Petersburg in Nizhnyaya Salda.
