The Nikolaev Church in Bolshaya Vokhtoma, built of stone along with a bell tower, was erected in 1820 thanks to the efforts of the parishioners. In 1905, it was expanded with funds from the church and support from benefactors. The fence around the church is also made of stone, and the cemetery is located within this fence. The church has three altars: in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the Protection of the Holy Virgin, the Holy Bishops Athanasius and Cyril of Alexandria, and the Holy Prophet Elijah. One of the attractions of the temple is the ancient Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God.
