The stone church with five domes and a bell tower, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, was built in 1863 thanks to the efforts of peasant Piscov. Before that, there was a wooden church in the village, which was completely destroyed on June 28, 1878.

Among the locally venerated icons, the church icon of Saint Nicholas stands out with the inscription: "This holy image was painted in the Rostov district for the church of St. Nicholas, known as on Penye. This image was created by the abbot Jacob of the Adrianov desert with his own money from his parents' funds."

The parish holds two processions: on May 9 in honor of the church holiday and on July 28, established in memory of a long-standing cattle disease. The church owns 33 desyatinas of land, and the parish consists of one village.

There is a legend about the origin of the village: in the place where the village now stands, there was a forest that was cut down for the construction of a wooden church in the village of Klepki. When they began to build the church, the logs rolled over to the side of the cut-down forest, which is why the construction was moved to this place. Subsequently, the entire village of Klepki relocated to the new church. The area where the village once stood is still called "Klepki."
