The St. Nicholas Church was wooden and cold, clad in wooden planks on the outside and plastered on the inside. It had 14 domes. Next to the church stood a four-tiered wooden bell tower, also clad in wooden planks, with a height of 12 fathoms including the cross. In 1886, the church was rebuilt, and on May 31, 1887, it was consecrated.
After the October Revolution in 1918, the monastery was closed. From February 1918 to January 1920, all its buildings and property were managed by the Nikolaevsky District Land Department. The St. Nicholas Church was used as a grain storage facility. By the decree of the Pugachev District Executive Committee on February 11, 1920, all monastery buildings were transferred to the district department of public education, and a club was established in the church.
In 1997, the restoration of the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Mopr began through the efforts of the parishioners of the Resurrection Church in the city of Pugachev. The restoration of the church and monastery was supported by enterprises in the city of Pugachev and the Pugachev district: the collective farm 'Rodina', which managed the monastery buildings, PМК-19, the Pugachev elevator, the liquor factory, the 'PtitseMash' factory, as well as parishioners from the district's churches. The parish in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Mopr, Pugachev district, was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Saratov region on November 26, 1998. A sisterhood was formed on the territory of the monastery, and the resident sisters began to restore the church and the monastery buildings, including a two-story cell house and a house for novices.
