The village of Lopatintsy is located 45 versts from Vladimir and 11 versts from Suzdal. According to ancient documents, it belonged to the great Moscow princes. In 1490, Prince Ivan Ivanovich transferred two meadows in Zaprudye, and for the convenience of communication between the villages, he ordered the construction of an embankment from Lopatintsy to Zaprudye, and a bridge was built over the Sengir River, which separated them. The first mentions of the church in Lopatintsy date back to the early 17th century. In the decree of False Dmitry to the nun Alexandra from 1608, Lopatintsy is mentioned as a palace village, indicating the presence of a church.

In the 18th century, there was a wooden church in the village, which became dilapidated by the end of the century and was dismantled. In its place, in 1797, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners and with the blessing of Viktor, the Bishop of Suzdal and Vladimir, a stone church was built, which has survived to this day. The bell tower is also made of stone. The church has two altars: in the cold part in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and in the warm altar, in the name of the holy martyrs Flora and Lavra. Church documents, including copies of metric books from 1802, confession lists from 1815, and an inventory of church property from 1884, are preserved intact.

The church land includes 1 tithe of homestead land, 4 tithes of meadow land, and 59 tithes of arable land, with a plan and boundary book. According to the parish staff, there is a priest and a psalmist. The annual income of the parish amounts to about 450 silver rubles, including 325 rubles from the brotherhood circle, 75 rubles from the land, and 50 rubles from various parish collections. There is a public house for the priest, and the psalmist lives in his own house. The parish includes the village and the village of Olikovo, totaling 111 households, 328 men, and 352 women. Since 1872, a church-parish school has been operating in the village.
