The church of the village Podberezye includes the parish of the village Kutukovo, located 20 versts from Vladimir. In the mid-17th century, Kutukovo was part of the possessions of the Goritsky Monastery in Pereslavl Zalessky, and after the abolition of the monastery's estates, it passed to the state. The patriarchal records of 1656 mention the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in this village, but its further fate is unknown.

The current stone church in Kutukovo was built with the funds of parishioners in 1833, and in 1888, a warm chapel was arranged in the refectory. The church has two altars: in the cold part, in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and in the warm part, in honor of the Protection of the Mother of God. The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, icons, and liturgical books. All church documents have been preserved intact: there are copies of the metric books since 1802 and confession lists since 1818. The bell tower, like the church, is built of stone.

There is no separate clergy, but a vicar priest and a part-time psalmist serve at the church. The income of the parish amounts to about 280 rubles a year, obtained from interest on capital, land rents, and land. The church lands include 31 dessiatins of homestead, arable, and haymaking land. There is a public house for the priest, and the psalmist has his own. The parish includes the village of Kutukovo and the village of Zaval, where 262 men and 266 women reside.
