The ceremony of consecration of the Orthodox church at the Ust-Medveditsky Spaso-Transfiguration Monastery will take place on September 7, 2014, in Serafimovich. The idea of constructing this shrine belongs to Metropolitan German of Volgograd and Kamyshin, who heads the Volgograd Metropolis, as reported by Volga-Media.
The construction of the church in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord, featuring 33 domes symbolizing the earthly years of Jesus Christ, began in the monastery back in 2003. In the last two years, finishing works have been carried out, and now the church is ready for opening. The rite of great consecration will be conducted by Metropolitan German of Volgograd and Kamyshin together with Bishop Elisei of Uryupinsk and Novoanninsk.
