On January 28, 2007, an important event took place: the consecration of a new Orthodox church in the village of Krasny Yar, Cherdaklinsky District.

Local residents still remember the large ancient Nikolsky church, which was destroyed in 1954 during the repressions and persecutions against the church. The desire to erase even the memory of the holy place was so strong that the godless demolished the hill on which the church stood and turned it into a sand quarry. Now, an illegal dump has formed in the abandoned pit. "The old church was much taller and larger than the new one," but it was dismantled by the "party members" into logs, from which a large village club was built. The club is now located just a few hundred meters from the destroyed church.

It took four years from the collection of documents to the day of the church's consecration, and the construction took three years.

In June 2005, on the day of the installation and consecration of the dome cross, the abbot of the Murom Monastery, Kirill, who cares for the Krasny Yar church, gifted an icon with the relics of the blessed princes of Murom, Peter and Fevronia, saints from the early 13th century, patrons of marriage and family. Father Kirill brought two identical copies, the second of which he personally gifted to Father Konstantin at the Epiphany Church in Stara Mayna.
