The indigenous population of the village consisted of Russian Orthodox. Initially, there was a wooden church in the village, which later burned down. In the mid-19th century, a new white stone church was built in the center of the village on an elevation, which has survived to this day. A 4-grade church school operated at this church. The village also housed Old Believers of various directions, such as 'Austrians', 'Non-Priestly', 'Written-off', and others. The Old Believers had two wooden churches and a prayer house built in the early 20th century. Each of the churches accommodated between 20 to 50 parishioners. In the 1930s, both churches and the prayer house were destroyed.
