The village of Korobovshchina, also known as Nikolskoye, is located 80 versts from Vladimir and 30 versts from the district town of Pokrov. Historical data about the village and its church is quite limited. According to a report on churches of the former Pereslavl diocese, compiled in 1799 based on testimonies from parish priests, it is known that at that time there was a wooden church in Korobovshchina dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, with an altar in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh. This church was built by the parishioners in 1764.

By 1829, a stone temple was erected on the site of the wooden church, with a similar bell tower. The temple has three altars: in the cold room, in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and in the warm altars, in honor of the prophet Elijah and St. Sergius of Radonezh. The latter altar was established in 1860 in memory of the altar of the same saint in the previous wooden church. The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. All church documents are preserved: copies of the metric books since 1803 and confession lists since 1827.

According to the staff, the church includes a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. Their maintenance is ensured by income from arable and haymaking land amounting to 40 rubles, interest capital of 750 rubles, and from services and sacramental rites totaling 1050 rubles. The clergy members have their own houses: the priest on personal land, and the deacon and psalmist on church land. The parish includes the village of Korobovshchina and the villages of Yakovlevo, Khlamostovo, Bludovo, Staraia, and Zherdevo, where according to clerical records, there are 967 men and 1126 women. A zemstvo public school also operates in the village.
