The Kopninsky parish is located in the village of Kopnino, which is 53 versts from the district town and 90 versts from the provincial capital. Until the beginning of this century, the church was not in Kopnino, but at the graveyard of Ramen, which is now a wasteland, 3 versts from Kopnino. The graveyard of Ramen is mentioned in the land books of the Murom district from 1627 and 1630. According to these books, there was a wooden church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker with a porch, built by Fyodor Apraxin. The church had a priest, a deacon, a sexton, and a prosphora baker, and there were three cells for the poor on the church land.

The church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker at the graveyard of Ramen is also mentioned in the salary books of the Ryazan diocese from 1676. There was a priest's yard at the church, and the parish included two landowner's yards and 20 peasant yards. In the village of Vasilyeva, there was a landowner's yard, 16 peasant yards, and one landless yard, but now there are 4 yards there. In the village of Matveevka, there were 12 peasant yards, and now there are 28. According to the priest, there were 3 quarters of land in the field and hay meadows for 30 copens.

After the church at the graveyard of Ramen was abolished in 1809, a stone church was built in Kopnino with the funds of landowner Kozlovsky. This church still exists today. The church has one altar in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. It is sufficiently equipped with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books, but there is nothing particularly ancient or valuable in it. The parish has a priest and a psalmist as per the staff.

The parish includes the village of Kopnino and the villages of: Matveevka 2 versts from the church, Vasilyevskie Dvoriki 2 versts away, and Barakova Saranchu 3 versts away. According to the clerical records, there are 379 men and 389 women in these settlements.
