The village of Kachalovo is located in the Sergach district. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the Nikolskaya Church in this village was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. The church dates back to 1835. However, according to the Administration of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, this order lost its validity on October 20, 2014, in accordance with order No. 159.
