Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Gremyachevo

Фото 1
The church is located next to the Kazan church, forming a single architectural complex with it. The "State Lists of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" indicate that the church was built in the 1860s. However, the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" states that the stone church was erected in 1853. The church has altars: the main one in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and side altars, the right dedicated to Archangel Michael, and the left to St. John the Theologian. From the slope of the left bank of the Tyozhi River, where the churches are located, the Kazan spring flows. In the eastern part of the village, there is the spring of St. John the Theologian. On the opposite, right bank of the Tyozhi, across from the western part of the village, are the springs of Archangel Michael and the icon "Quick to Hear."
