Фото 1
The stone church with an altar dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built in 1824 thanks to the efforts of the parishioners. In 1878, peasant Joseph Illarionov was appointed church elder in the village of Gnezdilovo. That same year, the Diocesan Authority expressed gratitude to the villagers and the elder for a donation of 775 rubles for the wall paintings.

By the end of the 19th century, the clergy included a priest and a psalmist. The church owned land: 1 desyatina of homestead land, as well as 32 desyatinas of arable and haymaking land. Income from the land and for conducting services brought the clergy up to 450 rubles in silver per year. The clergy's houses were located on church land and were their property.

The parish included one village, which had 137 households, 364 men, and 415 women in 1897.
