Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Filimonovo

Фото 1
In the village of Filimonovo, there are two stone churches with a single dome. The first was built in 1793 with funds from the parishioners and consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas. The second church, constructed in 1804 by a landowner from the village of Inery, is dedicated to St. Demetrius of Thessalonica. The bell tower was built simultaneously with the first church. Previously, a wooden church stood on this site, as confirmed by a stone monument placed at the altar's location. The churches do not house miraculous or particularly venerated icons. Documents and manuscripts related to the history of the Filimonovo churches are not of particular interest, as they all date no earlier than 1790.

Among the church utensils worthy of attention due to their antiquity are the tin diskos and chalice. Nearby the church in the village of Filimonovo, there were burial mounds.
