Instead of the lost stone Nikolsky temple, a wooden winter church was built, which is now a sister monastery of the Nikol-Shartom Monastery. The village also has the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, built in 1796, and next to it is the wooden Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, erected in the early 21st century.

According to the scribal books of 1628, the village of Bolshie Dorki belonged to the Oblduyev brothers, who were granted it for their father's participation in the defense of Moscow during the reign of Tsar Vasily Ivanovich Shuisky. There stood a wooden church of the Transfiguration of the Lord with an altar dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. An inscription on the church-building cross indicates that in 1750-1755, under Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, a new church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was consecrated in the village. In 1796, with the funds of parishioners, a stone church with an altar in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord was built in Dorki. There was also another warm stone church in Dorki, built in 1840, with an altar in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Since 1893, a church-parish school operated in the village, where 43 students were educated in 1897.
