The stone church was built in 1816 by landowner Ivan Leontievich Beketov. From 1874 to 1876, a refectory and bell tower were added thanks to the efforts of landowners Beketov, Morozova, and other parishioners. The church has three altars: the main cold altar dedicated to the saint and miracle worker Nicholas, and two warm side chapels: the northern in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity and the southern in honor of the holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian. There is also a stone chapel built by landowner Dmitry Ivanovich Beketov.

The church land includes 3 dessiatines of estate land and 33 dessiatines of arable land. The clergy consists of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. There is a church house for the priest, and the deacon and psalmist have their own houses, all located on church land. The capital of the clergy amounts to 1115 rubles. The salary from the treasury is: 300 rubles for the priest, 150 rubles for the deacon, and 100 rubles for the psalmist.

In the village of Beketovka and the village of Malaya Beketovka, there are parishioners living in 268 households: 973 men and 1019 women. The church parish charity has been operating since 1883. The village has a zemstvo school located in its own building, built in 1879 by Morozova, as well as a second-grade church parish school with a one-class model, existing since 1899 and located in its own building.
