A stone two-story church, built by the parishioners in 1752, according to a report from 1813, was constructed in 1743. On the upper floor is the altar dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God, while the altar on the lower floor, dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, has been abolished. There is also a warm stone church, built by the parishioners, with an altar in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Both churches are surrounded by a wooden fence. Three versts from the church is a wooden chapel.

The church land includes 2 dessiatinas and 1633 square fathoms of homestead land and 27 dessiatinas and 285 square fathoms of arable land. The clergy consists of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. There is a church house for the priest, a public one for the deacon, and a private house for the psalmist. The village of Baryshskaya Sloboda has 1175 men and 1354 women. There is also a zemstvo school in the village.
