The village of Balashieka in the Syzran district is considered relatively young by historical standards, as it was founded in the early 1890s and became known in 1895 as a railway station. It is likely that around this time a wooden church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built, about which almost no information has survived. It is only known that it existed until the revolution and was destroyed in the 1930s during the period of militant atheism. A rural club was built in its place.

In 2000, this club, located on the site of the former church, was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church and became a house of prayer. The church was consecrated in the priestly order under the same name as the previous one on March 7, 2003. In early April 2008, the house of prayer, which was under the management of the Ascension Monastery in Syzran, was transferred to the Parish in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Balashieka. At the same time, a blessing was received for the construction of a new church.
