On September 27, the feast day of the Elevation of the Holy Cross, a festive archpastoral service took place at the Monastery of the Life-Giving Cross, located in the village of Nikolsky Pogost on the Iordanka River in the Ilyinsky District, not far from Antushkovo. Metropolitan Joseph, along with Bishop Nikon of Shuya and Teikovo, Bishop Hilarion of Kineshma and Palekh, the monastery's abbot Hieromonk Gabriel Lysov, and the brotherhood of the monastery, as well as clergymen from the Shuya and Ivanovo-Voznesensk dioceses, consecrated the new Protection church and conducted the Divine Liturgy there. For many years, pilgrims have come to Nikolsky Pogost to pray at this great shrine. The river, which arose in the midst of a swamp, was named Iordanka. In 1776, a majestic stone church was built at the pogost.

During the persecutions against the Church in the late 1930s, the church was destroyed, and the Life-Giving Cross was transferred by the faithful to the nearest functioning church in the village of Godenovo in the Yaroslavl region. In 1998, a monastic community was established at Nikolsky Pogost. The late abbot Boris made great efforts to restore spiritual life here. In 2001, the restoration of the stone Cross Elevation church began. Now there is a monastery with a majestic church, a bell tower, a brotherhood building, and economic structures. The construction of the monastery fence is nearing completion. The Protection church of the monastery has been built and consecrated. In the village of Antushkovo, the Kazan church operates on the monastery's courtyard. The site of the appearance of the unmade holy relic attracts many pilgrims, the number of which is constantly growing.
