The Nikolskaya church of the 17th century was transported from the village of Tukhola, located in the Krestetsky district. Originally, it stood outside the village, on the banks of the Nisha River, at the point where the Tukholka stream flows into it. The first mention of Tukhola dates back to 1478, when Prince Ivan III was on a campaign to Novgorod and stopped "at Nikola in Tukhola." However, our church belongs to a later period. According to legend, it was transported from Ust-Volma. Dendrochronological analysis dates the construction to 1688.

The church represents a so-called cell structure. The main rectangular log cabin, called the katholikon, is adjoined by similarly rectangular log cabins of the altar and refectory. All log cabins, including the main one and the adjoining ones, are covered with gable roofs. The central log cabin is noticeably taller than the others, with intermediate shelves and a higher gable roof topped with a dome. The side walls have slight overhangs.

Based on the survey and measurements of the preserved parts, the lost two-flight porch and some other details were restored. The disassembly and transportation of the church took place from July 19 to 25, 1966. The Tukhola cell church is a typical construction. In the wooden church architecture of Rus, this type of church was probably the most widespread, and many of them have survived to this day.
