In the village of Laksha, there is a church dedicated to the Icon of the Mother of God "Burning Bush." This is the only church in the Nizhny Novgorod diocese bearing such a name. The village used to have two churches, but only the main one has survived, as the cemetery church was destroyed during the Soviet years. The church had three altars: the main one in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Burning Bush," the right one in honor of the apostles Peter and Paul, and the left one in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. During the Soviet era, the building was used as a club, which helped preserve it from destruction. Now a new club has been built in the village, and the church has been returned to the believers.
