In the village of Ust-Tarka, there was a wooden church dedicated to the Archangel Michael, built in 1857. In the village of Shcherbaki, a church school was opened in 1893, while in Ust-Tarka, a civil department school was in operation. The parish charitable committee was also established in 1893.

Priest Gennady Evgenievich Benevolensky was ordained as a priest of this church in 1910, and from December 31, 1912, the psalmist was peasant Prokopy Vasilyevich Zavyalov.

In the 1930s, the temple was completely destroyed. In January 2009, at the initiative of local residents and with the blessing of Archbishop Tikhon of Novosibirsk and Berdsk, a community was established in honor of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia. Its spiritual leaders became priests Alexander Solovyov and Vladimir Steblev. The administration of the Ust-Tarka district provided the community with a space for conducting services and rituals. In August 2010, priest Alexander Shatov was appointed as the rector of the community, after which regular services and sacraments began to be held in the parish.

From August to October 2011, the foundation for a new church was laid, and on April 23, 2012, the construction of its walls began.
