The Church of Archangel Michael in Syuksym

Фото 1
The stone temple, consisting of two floors, was built by the parishioners in 1831. It houses two altars: on the lower floor, in honor of the Archangel Michael, and on the upper floor, in honor of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God.

After its closure in the 1930s, the church underwent numerous reconstructions. During different periods, various institutions were housed in the building, and at one time, a telephone station was located in the altar area. In the 1970s, by order of the authorities, many structures in the village were built by teams of Armenian builders, and the walls of the temple were covered with a concrete "coat," giving it a grim appearance.
