The stone church with a bell tower was built in 1824 in the village of Svishevka, Serdobsky district of Saratov province, thanks to the efforts of landowner Chikhacheva. The clergy consisted of a priest and a psalmist, and their houses were communal. In the village and in the nearby village of Bolshie Podgorenki, which belongs to the parish, there was one zemstvo school each.

In the summer of 1936, the church was closed. The building has survived but is in a nearly ruined state. Researchers believe that its restoration is possible. The brick vault is intact, and the dome's cladding has partially survived, although some parts are missing. The dome of the church has survived. The foundation of the bell tower appears to be quite sturdy and may stand for a long time. All windows are bricked up, and access to the bell tower is through a breach in the wall. The stairs for ascent have not survived. The bell tower room is separated from the main hall by brickwork. Entrance to the building is only possible through wooden doors covered with tin. On the ceiling and walls, remnants of frescoes have survived in good condition. The church is located on the outskirts, but a road to the village runs nearby.
