Only one charred wall remains of the church today, a reminder of the heavy events of the last century when the leaders of the Communist Party, blinded by their cruelty, stained their banners with the blood of the best representatives of the people. These people did not agree with the terrible life that the General Secretaries condemned them to, isolating them from the world in a godless socialist reservation.

Elderly residents of Sosnovka, 74-year-old Alexander Grigoryevich Balashov and Mikhail Fyodorovich Zakharov, bitterly recall the destruction of the Archangel Michael church in the 1950s. Locals remember that the construction of the church began in 1803 and was completed in 1825. The church had three large entrances. The current elders were still children when the church was destroyed immediately after the war. A.G. Balashov recalls: "At that time, the RDK burned down in Karsun, and iron was needed for its repair, so they decided to demolish the church. The demolition was led by Chairman Kaznacheev. He first 'opened' the church, and then they began to dismantle it."

The church was extraordinarily majestic. Made of white stone and very tall, it beautifully towered over the village. The surrounding nature, with its forest-covered hills, emphasized its solemn and heavenly beauty.
