The charter for the construction of a wooden church in one of the oldest villages of the Unin region, Sosnovka, was issued by the Vyatka diocese on June 21, 1760. After that, the construction of the church began, which was consecrated on November 4, 1769, in honor of Archangel Michael. The church was named Archangel's, and the village became known as Archangel's. Over time, the church became too small for all the parishioners, and the need for a new temple arose. In December 1806, Deacon Ioann Dvinyaninov and peasant Fedot Beltyukov appealed to Bishop Gideon of Vyatka for permission to build a new stone church in honor of the Archistrategos Michael with an altar of the Life-Giving Trinity. On December 17 of the same year, a charter was issued for the construction of a stone church in Sosnovka: "In another place to the east of the existing wooden one, to build according to the plan and facade approved by us."

The construction of the stone church began in 1807, and finishing works started in 1809 and were conducted only in the summer. In 1817, the right altar was consecrated in honor of Archistrategos Michael on November 4, and the left altar in honor of the Venerable Zosima and Savvatiy of Solovki on November 5, after which services began. Until the consecration of the main altar, the church retained its previous name.

In 1844, the construction of the stone temple was completed, and on October 2, the main altar of the cold church was consecrated in the name of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity. The church became known as the Trinity Church, and the village was named Obruchnoe. The beauty of the temple can be judged by the preserved frescoes on its walls. The parish of the Trinity Church covered a radius of 12 versts, including 40 settlements with 5,763 parishioners.

In 1877, by the decree of Bishop Ambrose of Vyatka, the warm church was rebuilt and expanded, with two altars added: the right in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Three-Handed" and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and the left in honor of Archangel Michael. The cold church and the Holy Trinity altar were reconstructed between 1907 and 1912.

On August 18, 1882, the wooden church was moved to the Sosnovka cemetery, where it eventually fell into ruin.

By the decision of the presidium of the Unin RIK on December 21, 1936, the Sosnovka church was closed, the altar was destroyed, the iconostasis was demolished, and the church utensils were taken away for the disposal of the Unin district executive committee. The interior space of the temple was repurposed for grain storage. The spire of the bell tower still rises above the temple and the village of Sosnovka. Despite the decline and traces of destruction caused by time and people, the creation of the architects of the Unin region continues to inspire admiration.
