The church was built in 1779 thanks to donations from parishioners and Mikhail Kosmin Ushakov. In 1904, it was reconstructed with funds from Ksenia Ivanova.

The building is made of stone, with five domes and a tent-shaped bell tower.

The church has four altars: in honor of the Archangel Michael and other Heavenly Hosts, the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the Miracle Worker, and the Righteous Procopius, the Holy Fool for Christ, the Miracle Worker of Ustyug.

In 1992, the church was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church and is currently active.
