The village of Savastleika is located on the Veltyma River, 24 versts from the district town and 150 versts from the provincial center.

In the tax records of 1676, there is mention of "the new village, called Savastleika," which was part of the parish of the village of Okulova and had 22 peasant households.

In the records of 1710, Savastleika is already listed as a village in the estate of the boyar Prince Mikhail Cherkassky. A church dedicated to the Descent of the Holy Spirit was built in the village, which included the house of priest Feoktist and 2 dessiatinas of church arable land. The parish counted 21 peasant households. Thus, the church and parish were established in the early 18th century.

In 1848, with funds from Count S.S. Uvarov, a stone church was built in Savastleika to replace the wooden one, which has retained its original appearance to this day.

The church has three altars: the main one in honor of the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, in the refectory, in honor of Archangel Michael and Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, icons, and liturgical books, however, there is nothing particularly ancient or valuable in it.

The clergy staff includes a priest and a psalmist, who receive up to 250 rubles a year from services and sacramental duties. They have their own houses on church land.

The church land includes 2 dessiatinas of homestead and 33 dessiatinas of arable land, with no meadow land. The arable land is poorly suited for cultivation, and there is neither a plan nor a land registry.

The parish consists only of the village of Savastleika, where the clerical records list 179 households, 634 men, and 681 women.
